Our Mandate

The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) is an independent entity established under Act No. 3 of 2001 to regulate and supervise financial institutions. It operates in the public interest and is funded through levies imposed on the industry.
Before NAMFISA, these functions were handled by a Directorate within the Ministry of Finance.
